I am committed to giving my clients the best experience possible

reflecting on my practice.

“Learning is about living and as such is lifelong” Bente Elkjaer

Over the years I have been getting more ‘tools’ in my tool kit
which is why I can often help people where other practitioners
have not been able to.

My Physiotherapy Journey

I qualified in Physiotherapy in 1996 from the University of Southampton. I obtained my Masters in Musculoskeletal Studies (Manual Therapy) in 2002 from the University of Western Australia in Perth.

Since 2014 I have been specialising in ConnectTherapy™ developed by Canadian Physiotherapist and researcher Dr Linda- Joy Lee. I assess the whole body from head to toe to find out not only where the pain is coming from but also the drivers to that pain. Treating areas that have been compensated by pain, habitual postures or injury has made an enormous improvement to the successful rehabilitation of many of my clients with longstanding pain. This year I am updating my knowledge in ConnectTherapy™ with a visit to Vancouver to re-fine my skills based on the current research.

After having worked within clinics in London, Sydney, Singapore and Southampton, I set up Enrich Therapies In 2019.

Upledger CranioSacral therapy

I started the Upledger CranioSacral Therapy curriculum in 2014. I used the gentle techniques alongside my Physiotherapy practice as they enabled me to really listen and connect with my clients. As I progressed through all the courses, I realised the enormity of the conditions CST helps with. I have been able to broaden my scope of practice to truly connect in with other systems of the body (e.g. the craniosacral system, the central nervous system, the digestive system and the cardiovascular system). The body also stores emotions in the body which can contribute to chronic pain and longstanding health issues. Somato Emotional Release (SER) is a process which offers profound change as the effects of physical and emotional trauma can be released by working with the body’s connective tissue.

I am a qualified Upledger CranioSacral Therapist and I am a member of the Cranio Sacral Society (CSS) and adhere to their code of ethics and practice.

Other Pilates Training

On a personal note, practising Pilates has helped me overcome the pelvic pain and dysfunction I had following my two pregnancies and Caesareans. Pilates helps me maintain core strength which helps with my other regular hobbies of climbing and tennis. I also enjoy horse riding, wild swimming and skiing.
